Triplane Turmoil - Subnautica Ecology Creative Glitchless 40m18s World Record

Presenting once again the slower and steadier version of the Ecology run, now with added Seamoth! Obviously still using fins at points while actually scanning, but probably not enough to warrant the Ultraglide upgrade. I was rather tempted to craft the Sonar module for the Seamoth so we could be "the machine that goes PING" while triplaning about, but that would have been a bit slow. Ecology is one of the Category Extensions for Subnautica speedrunning, where the objective is to fill out the "Indigenous Lifeforms" section of the Databank - a total of 111 entries. The fastest form of glitchless movement in the game is generally using the Grapple arms and the PRAWN suit but that is not very consistent or suitable for large open stretches. The next fastest is travelling three directions at once in the Seamoth - holding left/right, up/down, and forwards simultaneously. Due to the method of propulsion, each extra axis is additive, so you end up with a net speed in one direction of something like 19 m/s. I call it 'triplaning' for short, for simplicity. Also, "Triplane Turmoil" was a great game back in the day, probably available as abandonware now, as a side-scrolling dogfighting game with local multiplayer. -- Support me through Patreon:
