EVE - The Lost One (イブ・ザ・ロストワン) is an adventure/simulation/visual novel that developed by C's Ware and published by Imagineer back in 1998 for the Sega Saturn console system and the Japanese market. It is not a Saturn's exclusive as there are 2 more versions : for the Sony Playstation system (1998) and for the Windows PCs (1998). The game is a direct sequel to EVE - Burst Error, one of the most popular adventures ~from Japan~ during the 90's - 00's era. The events of the game take place three years after those of the first game. The player is able to control two characters - the female detective Kyoko and the mysterious Snake, as they try to solve a complex mystery full of betrayals and political intrigues. Kyoko is the newcomer investigator just after severe course of training and her first task is investigating circumstances of death of a young scientist. Snake is a mysterious figure who is blackmailed to find "memories" of former Eldia king to bring back to life sleeping EVE/Mayako Mido. Somehow everyone hunts for the "memories" and the truth lies in Eldia. Eve - The Lost One can be described as a "menu choice driven" game which means in order to progress further in the story , you have to talk - investigate and look all around your place. The game feels and plays indentical to the previous entry and that's something that might make happy the fans of the Burst Error. This time there are more CGs to see and of course, a lot of anime style scenes. If you like these type of games, it's a fascinating experience full of mystery and investigating twists. All and all, I would consider this game as an enjoyable experience. It's not import friendly game.
