Blur 2013 #32: Rageous All-Track Tour (Motor Mash)

To expedite things, we went through each of the four Motor Mash tracks, doing a different class for each. Custom lobbies are actually the only time you can ever do them on Class A -- the Motor Mash lobby was restricted to B, C and D Class. Woefully underappreciated, this mode was. I tried for years to get a Team Motor Mash clan match off the ground, but it never happened. Most people sucked at this. The few who it spoke to, however, were mind-bogglingly good. Seamonky (Kofize) laid claim once to cracking over 300 points in a single match, and a select few other players (Kazzy, MissynBilly, Demon, CraziKyle) were just so lethal with powerups and grief tactics that entire rooms would shrivel and die the minute they arrived. In a game where virtually everyone is guilty of cockiness exceeding their talent, surprisingly few ever fronted in Motor Mash. You simply had nowhere to hide. It would've also been great to see a Mario Kart-style elimination mode for this (rather than points-based victories), but BetA once reported that Motor Mash simply wasn't programmed to account for eliminations in the field and the game went haywire when he tried. We did a test after this session to confirm it -- sure enough, glitches abound that made it impractical for use. Such a shame. A good battle mode in any racing game is hard to come by. This was a phenomenal one.
