Amiga 500 Longplay [150] The Adventures of Willy Beamish
Played by: Ironclaw Ironclaw's YouTube channel: Finally I'm playing through it for the first time. Had this game on my miggy as a kid and didn't get very far. Been wanting to longplay it ever since longplaying became a thing. There was only one previous Amiga longplay, but he played with low memory so there were ZERO music throughout the entire game. So silent and boring. He also just did what was needed to get from A to B. I went the extra mile, as usual. Man, this one took forever to do. Had to try everything first to see what would happen and what would be the best choices that shows the best stuff, do a bunch of editing, fix errors, etc. There were many things I wanted to do, but couldn't due to time restraints in the game. Like, inside the house, I wanted to go up to the attic/loft to show that off, but didn't have the time after I did the other stuff I actually needed to do, as his mom would get mad on him for not getting in bed on time, making the "Trouble Meter" rise, and when too high - it's game over. So had to be careful and not take too many risks. There were points later where I could have gone up there, but added it at the end of the longplay instead. To get through the game, I took help of a walkthrough (text) and a longplay of the PC version. In the PC version when he entered the Plumber's Union, he were supposed to pick up the Security Card from the desk after using the plunger on the man, but he didn't and went back later when that card was needed to get past the security guy. I missed that part in the walkthrough so did what he did and had to go back later as well. The problem here is I couldn't get back inside, the game glitched. I tried saving (not save state), restart everything and load the save in case something got broken earlier, but still couldn't enter. So replayed from the office part to the security guy again, but didn't record all this, so kept the old version of the recording where the card was missing from the inventory, but ripped the card GFX and manually added it to the inventory every time it was opened :), was easier and faster than replaying all that again. An emulation issue I have in some games is the screen moving around. Usually don't in these 320x200 adventure games. So I had to cut the movie into several parts and recenter them all. Hope I didn't miss any. Death and other stuff: I added the death/fail/stuff at the end of the video. Only skipped some of the small/short animations that led up to the fails. Was too lazy to record them and couldn't decide where to put them, as several of them ends in the same death sequence, so I just picked those I liked the best. One potential death/fail could be not using the Germ-Away before putting on the band-aid, as the walkthrough says the band-aid will fall off later in the game if he doesn't. Not worth playing all the way to the end again to try that one out. The bat part where she picks up Willy (the first image where we see her claws) had graphic errors. I repaired the image as good as I could using the PC version as a reference. 02:01:37 - Some deaths and other stuff 02:09:23 - The Twilight Zone 02:09:07 - Rise of the Dragon (might be the one I do after this longplay, and then Heart of China). - Disclaimer: Most videos by World of Longplays use SaveStates!
