A short demonstration of one of the prototypes game concepts that we've embedded in version 2.0 of Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint for iOS. This prototype is for a possible new game mode, that adds gravity to the game, so all the balls fall to the bottom of the screen. The rest of the game rules are more or less the same - connect balls of the same colour, connect 7 balls to remove a cluster, but the gravity and squashed pile of balls at the bottom make the experience of playing the game very different. We changed the Tariff (the base score multiplier) to be based on the height of the ball pile, rather than the number of successful shots you've made in a chain, so that filling the table up gives higher scores per shot, but makes it tougher to find space to fire balls up in the air. The game isn't quite balanced right yet, and definitely needs some tweaking and rule changes, but we thought it would be fun to let people play a work-in-progress, to see how a game mechanic like this evolves, and maybe give us a bit of useful feedback too. Squish may be developed further into an Arcade Game within Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint, or we may spin it off into a completely separate product. This prototype is available to Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint Skeleton Key owners right now, and may be expanded later into a full, separate product in the future.
