The Inferno race is the world's longest and oldest amateur downhill ski race, held in Murren, Switzerland every January. This year they cut the course short due to snow conditions. There are a few slower/flat sections at the beginning which I have sped up by 3x. As this was my first year racing I had a quite high bib number. Each year you compete if you do well you lower your starting position. The course was very bumpy but that is to be expected as the conditions get worse over the course of the day. The earlier you start in the day the smoother the downhill track is. There is a whole party around this race in the resort including burning an effigy of the devil and a massive after party at the end. There is also a giant slalom race and a cross country race that you can enter to get a combined ranking of all three ski races.
