Швейцарский нож горных дорог: Наибэшанские hairpin в облаках

Today we will drive the famous winding mountain road in Sichuan - the Nibashan Winding Mountain Road. Niba Mountain is located at the junction of Yingjing County and Hanyuan County in Ya'an City, Sichuan Province. The section of National Highway connecting Qingxi Town in Hanyuan and Siping Township in Yingjing County is known as the Niba Mountain Winding Road. Niba Mountain is located in the middle section of the Daxiangling Mountain Range. Its main peak is 3,300 meters above sea level, and the pass is 2,552 meters above sea level. It is the only way for National Highway 108 to cross the Daxiangling Mountains. National Highway G108 also serves as an auxiliary route for Sichuan-Tibet Highway 318, serving as a key gateway to scenic spots such as Lugu Lake and Hailuogou. The Nibashan winding road has an altitude drop of over a thousand meters over 30 kilometers, with an average gradient of 10%. The 5.39-kilometer section features 19 consecutive hairpin turns, with a minimum radius of less than 30 meters, and some curves bordering on "U-turns," making it a true nightmare for motorcyclists. Although Nibashan is not on the list of "China's Top Ten Winding Mountain Roads", its bend density (19 bends/5.39 kilometers) far exceeds that of Qinglong Twenty-Four Turns (24 bends/4 kilometers), and the risk of natural rockfall is more prominent. The Nibashan Winding Road, with its dramatic curves, dramatic drops, and contrasting road conditions, is a challenging destination for self-driving enthusiasts. The ancient towns of Qingxi and Siping Township along the way add cultural heritage, making this journey not only exciting but also full of charm. Map navigation:
