Reformers (INTL Ver.) (2017, MMO PC STEAM Gameplay 2021)

Reformers INTL Ver. is an MMO Online/Offline Jrpg. It was released originally in 2017 and the English version released in 2018. It is Developed by RMKing, and Published by SakuraGame. STORY: 14/20 You are pulled into the world to become a Reformer, a person with powers to collect and reform monsters to do your bidding. You are sent on a task to save the world from an evil villain named Picasso who is releasing monsters all over the world to attack the people of the world. Why is this Picasso doing this? it is your mission to find out. GRAPHICS: 14/20 The game actually don't look too bad, the developers description on steam says the game has been all hand-painted and optimized for the game.. I call BS on that though, 'cos I clearly spotted assets being used from Smile Game Builder, an rpg game making engine, which is illegal by the way. What art IS hand painted though is really nice, the characters, the monsters, towns, etc. An issue I had with the graphics was when I played full screen the graphics kind of blur so it's not been optimized for full screen HD at all. The menus looked okay but very RPG Maker-like.. so it has that OLD look about it, which I think is what the developers wanted to achieve anyways. SOUND: 15/20 The music is nice and chill, some nice tracks that play whilst you roam around and in battle. Sound effects are pretty nice also, sounds for walking, jumping, attacking, spells, encounters, monsters, it's all here.. as you'd expect from any game really. GAMEPLAY/SYSTEMS: 14/20 Okay, so the game is clearly influenced by Pokémon, due to all the monster soul collecting/contracting you can do so there's that at least. Unfortunately.. this is where the game starts to fail for me.. translation errors aside, you are just placed in this world with very little direction on how things work.. for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to upgrade or remove party members, an in-game tutorial showing you how to do that would have been nice. There's a lot going in the menu systems which is annoying cos they game makes use of pictures for sections rather than words.. so you're left guessing what some of the menu section are, or what they are used for. The game makes use of controller (apparently) and Keyboard, I always struggle with games like this 2.5D angle for moving around and when I tried my gamepad it wouldn't even work. Systems wise, the game seems to have a lot going for it, monster capturing via soul reforming, questing, crafting, upgrading items, and a few more things, but there's possibly even more in later game. I haven't played further than after defeating the first green dragon in the forest area so I really can't comment on that. TRANSLATION: 14/20 Well, it's playable, English text has been placed in for the important sections but there is STILL a lot of text not translated, I noticed this after talking to some NPC's after defeating them. MOST of the menus are translated whilst some of them still have stuff not translated. OVER ALL: 71/100 What I played of it, it wasn't a bad experience, I just wish there was more direction in stuff, OH! and also a run ability cos walking is just MEH! Do I recommend it..? sure! why not? it's cheap and it's something different if you're bored one rainy day. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- If your interested in trying this Mmo out you can find it on STEAM here..
