A playthrough of NEC's 1990 shoot 'em up for the TurboGrafx-16, Ordyne. The video shows me playing first through the standard game, and then at 27:33 I restart the game and play through it in "Kana" mode using a secret code in the instruction book. Kana mode changes your player to a girl, Kana (obviously), gives you a new intro and ending (with some awesome engrish!), and kicks the difficulty up quite a few notches. Ordyne is a great port of the Namco arcade shooter, and overall a really good game. It's kinda cutesy, but it doesn't hold back the challenge level once you get to the fifth or sixth level (in regular mode). It also gets much hairier in Kana mode. It's odd, and it's super cute, and it plays really well! If you like the classic shooters, you'll probably enjoy this super short but memorable oddity. __________________ No cheats were used during the recording of this video.
