The game was a big deal when released and got quite a splash of media around it. The history of games is: PC-98, FM Towns, X68000, Windows 95, PS1. A physical reproduction series has been released by Project EGG including a recreation of the special item 8cm CD but not sure if you can pick them up anymore, they might be collector's items already:
