Alpha Polaris | Horror Adventure | 4K60/1440p60 | Longplay Full Game Walkthrough No Commentary

Full game longplay of Alpha Polaris, a 2011 point-and-click horror/adventure game, made by finnish devs Turmoil Games, for the PC. Release 24th June 2011. Played via dgVoodoo to sort of force change the resolution from 1280x800 (the only res in the game's settings) to 3840x2160, with FXAA/MSAA enabled (only one of those worked), though game seems to be mostly high quality prerendered backgrounds with 3D models only, hence there is not much difference in the resolution. Recorded in 1440p60 because yes, I've forgotten to change the resolution output to 4K60, again. Game still running at that "4K" resolution via dgVoodoo. Review: Very short, but overall pretty well rated/review point-and-click game, reviews ranging from 7/10 to 8/10. Quite a lot of elements of horror, thriller, mystery, psychological trauma. All the good stuff you would wish to find in a horror adventure game! Action also takes place on a research station somewhere in Greenland. Huge "The Thing" vibes. Isolation, snow, bad weather, suspicion that can be felt in the air, uncertainty on who's losing their mind, and what awaits. I very much liked this game, low budget and very short, but with all the good things that I rate highly. If you liked my The Black Mirror series longplays, or the PENUMBRA series, which arguably would be the closest match for a non point-and-click game, then you are in for a treat, same emotions and atmosphere you felt there, can be felt here, plus some "ice desert" location on top of it. Highly recommended by me, to every thriller/horror adventure game fan out there, to play by yourself, to try and get immersed, for as short as the game lasts. Solid 8.5/10, from a horror/thriller fan! Quick summary of the story (with NO spoilers): Rune Knudsen is a Norwegian biologist and the protagonist living at the American exploratory oil facility/research station Alpha Polaris in Greenland. Among the crew is Al Schaumann, the leader of the station, Tully Crean, a coarse and somewhat obnoxious handyman, Alistair Euler, the arrogant son of the company's CEO who arrives for a sudden unscheduled inspection and Nova whom Rune has romantic feelings for. Al finds a crevasse with a cave on the walls. Inside the cave he finds something that resemble human bones and an aged parchment showing dark images and strange pictographs. #horrorstories #thething #horrorletsplay #longplay #pointandclick #adventuregame #horrorstory #thriller #greenland #arctic #antarctica
