In my opinion, this game is one of the more 'entertaining' historical adventure-games of Cryo Interactive. The murder mystery story in Ancient China is simple, but well executed and has a nice rythm to it. Music and graphics create a really nice atmosphere. Playing a character of high rank is fun, because all the characters you meet keep you in high regard. Also fascinating to see are all the strict bureaucratic rules which were common these days. The graphics are mixed; nice environments but characters with lots of strange faces. They did a better job with their earlier title "Egypt." Different team, I guess. Animation is uneven as well: sometimes stiff, sometimes convincing because of motion-capture. If you want to try one of Cryo's earlier Historical adventure-titles; let it be this one. === TECHNICAL NOTES * I played this game in a Windows 10 environment. (64-bit) * The installation-program is not compatible with 64-bit systems. Follow these steps: - Copy your CD/DVD on your harddisk and give it any name you want; for example "DVD_China." Never delete this folder; it functions as CD-station for the game. - Search online for the easy-to-find-file "setup32.exe" and place it in the folder you created in the previous step: "DVD/US/SETUP" - Click on the setup32-file and install the game. Don't install it in a "Program Files" folder on your harddisk. - I played the game in the program "Dxwnd" to adjust the mouse-speed. Otherwise, camera-movement is way to fast. © Cryo Interactive Entertainment / Canal+ Multimédia
