RS3 - Racing Simulation 3 (2002) - Every PC F1 Game

RS3 - Racing Simulation 3 by Ubi Soft, 2002. Ubi Soft's sequel to F1 Racing Championship lost the official F1 license for some reason, thus they turned to their "Racing Simulation" name, in essence saying this is a sequel to F1 Racing Simulation and Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2. They modified the content, changing all cars/tracks/brandings in-game, making the cars look more like IndyCars, removing parts of scenery (e.g. roof from grandstands in Malaysia) and renamed each track to a different country (e.g. USA becomes Mexico, Canada becomes Iceland). The game had improved AI, a Scenarios mode (where you had to repeat/recreate real-life incidents, though these were somewhat hard to identify with all the changed names) and more. 1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 The in-car view is a bit nicer looking that F1 Racing Championship, otherwise it's not hugely different. The game does stutter and drop frames whenever you or another car touches the grass, I tried to minimise this, but it would involve turning the graphics down a lot. 2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:38 Spray is more grey than purple (as it was in F1 Racing Championship), but it looks pretty effective. 3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:53 Despite featuring on the intro video, Monaco isn't part of this game, presumably a licensing issue (as the publisher is French, and previously had a license for Monaco in Racing Simulation 2, so perhaps they decided to avoid any legal issues by removing the track). I've used a small part of the French Magny-Cours track instead, which has a bridge (rather than a tunnel!). 4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:07 Wet weather is greatly improved in appearance over F1 Racing Championship. It's still as slippery though, hence me treading carefully! 5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:30 Pitstops in this game are pretty much the same as F1 Racing Championship, which means a bit of animation, brake smoke, the option to drive in/out manually, a pitcrew who leave the nose fixing until last, and the easy ability to speed in the pits if you forget the limiter! 6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:55 Crashes are pretty much the same as F1 Racing Championship, which includes this not-so-perfect far-away camera view!
