Disneyland-20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Walkthrough (1955-1966)

-When Disneyland opened in 1955, Walt Disney found a shortage of attractions in his Tomorrowland section and one way he quickly remedied that was hastily putting together a walkthrough tour of props and sets from the movie 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. This required getting the giant squid used in the movie reassembled on short notice as the centerpiece exhibit! -Photographs of the tour are shown here set to a narration track by Thurl Ravenscroft (best known as the voice of Tony The Tiger who worked many times for Disney down through the years) that apparently played in various rooms. The "final resting place of the Nautilus" was a window that let the guests look out onto a well-crafted dry-for-wet model suggesting the Nautilus lying on the ocean floor. -The walkthrough was dismantled in 1966 to make way for Disneyland's new Tomorrowland section. Captain Nemo's pipe organ found a new home in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion where it remains to this day. -The images all appear in the sequence that Disneyland visitors would have seen them.
