2nd Annual All-Community Virtual MSA Conference 2021 - Russian Treatment of MSA Speaker: Cholpon Shambetova, MD (Kyrgyz Republic) Dr. Cholpon Shambetova graduated from the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. After completing her residency in neurology, she received a grant from The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) for training in movement disorders and Parkinson's disease under the mentorship of Prof. SY Lim at the University of Malaya Medical Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2019, she was selected for the MDS LEAP, and organized the first MDS Central Asian Movement Disorders teaching course. Besides her clinical practice and university research work, she is the chair of the organization "Movement disorders and Parkinson's Disease Alliance of CIS countries", an active agent in patient advocacy, and the founder and host of Parkinson's schools in Kyrgyzstan and MDPDA Parkinson's Online Schools in Russian and Kyrgyz languages, working on patient education. Dr. Shambetova is the first neurologist trained in movement disorders in the Central Asian region, an active member of the Asia-Oceanian Sector of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, and the MDS-AOS Education Committee member.
