Mystery Case Files: Madame Fate Speedrun in 59:23

HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY MADAME FATE! In this video I speedrun all of Madame Fate in 59:23 without using any hints or skips. To achieve this, I played Madame Fate 5 times in a 24 hour period. This is the record for the most often I've played the game in a day, but I'm not sure if it's the record for most playthroughs in a week, month, or year. When I first learned about this game I was obsessed with it and played it to death. Also, I'm posting this on November 6, but November 7 might actually be the day this game released in 2007, I couldn't find a clear answer. Starting off, my goal was just to do it in under an hour and a half. I thought it would be difficult considering how on my casual playthroughs I usually had a time just barely under 2:30:00. Then once I reached that, my goal was under 1:20:00. Once I reached that, my goal was under 1:10:00. Once I reached that, my goal was to do it in under an hour. If this were any other MCF game, I would've probably been satisfied with my 1:29:06 attempt. However, because I love Madame Fate so much I kept pushing myself to go lower and lower. Up until the day I went for this speedrun (Oct. 22, 2022), I never thought it would be possible to get a time under an hour on this game. Now though, I think it could even be possible to get a time under 55 minutes. However, to do it several minutes faster yet would take a large amount of determination on my part. Even on this 59:23 run, I was going so fast that my brain's reaction times were being pushed to the very limit with reading the items from the list and finding and clicking on them fast enough. I stopped at this run because I had dwarfed my original goal of under 1:30:00, and doing nothing but play Madame Fate for a day made me kinda tired of it. Although I've played it so many times, speedrunning Madame Fate felt a lot harder than Huntsville, Prime Suspects, or Ravenhearst. For one thing, Madame Fate's items are usually much smaller and harder to click on (you can hear me misclick quite often in this video). Although the game lets you collect multiple items meaning I can get a much faster time than the other games, it was nice to have a slight pause to search for other items while one was being collected. Also, there's pretty much no leeway for missing items when you're speedrunning this game. You only have 2 items you don't need to collect, but you need to put those toward skipping one of the carny hidden object scenes since it's much faster to get items outside of the carny scenes. The only exception is in level 13 I did Puddles' scene, but that's because the Clown's Trailer Interior is the hardest scene in the game for me. I will say my time speedrunning this game made me enjoy the Puppet Show location a lot more, mainly because its items seemed easier to find compared to a lot of other locations.
