However, the good times didn't last long, as Ruyi was diagnosed with distemper. But instead of giving up, his owner persisted with treatment. During the treatment period, the owner took meticulous care of Ruyi, even making toys for him and singing lullabies to help him sleep. With this devoted care, Ruyi's condition gradually improved. As time passed, Ruyi grew from his initial weight of 4 jin (2kg) to 8 jin (4kg), and the bond with his owner grew stronger. The owner created a special playground for him, played with him, and taught him simple commands. When the New Year came, the owner took Ruyi back to his hometown, where Ruyi not only became good friends with his grandparents' dog but also helped herd ducks, becoming fully integrated into this big family.
