[SCD] Mansion of Hidden Souls (1993) - Full Playthrough
Mansion of Hidden Souls Platform: Sega CD (Mega CD) Recorded on a Model 2 NTSC-U Sega CD using an Elgato HD60 capture card (converted using a Mini AV2HDMI upscaler) Adventure game playlist: • Adventure game playthroughs This is a recording of a first-person adventure game for the Sega CD (or Mega CD in EU/JP). It was developed by System Sacom and published in the US by Vic Tokai in December of 1993. It also published in Japan by Sega, under the name "Yumemi Yakata no Monogatari". Being released only a few months after Myst, Mansion of Hidden souls was ahead of its time in being a pre-rendered 3D puzzle-adventure game, and is probably the first of its kind to be released on a home console. However, unlike Myst, it hasn't aged very well. It suffers from clunky and slow control, a lack of interesting puzzles, extremely repetitive looping music, and a disappointing amount of content (being less than an hour long, with the majority of that time being taken up by slow animations of moving from one room to another). Despite this, I still think it's a very interesting and unique game, and worth owning if you're an adventure collector.
