Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong Nou is a 1995 adventure game by experimental artist Osamu Sato's studio OutSide Directors and Sony Imagesoft. The game takes place on the living, soul-swallowing island of Tong Nou where Rin has traveled to retrieve his soul. Using an illustrated guidebook, the player must guide Rin through nine lives of creatures from Tong Nou, learning the interplay of life, time, dreaming, and desire in the process. Eastern Mind relies heavily on philosophy and surreal imagery to compliment its non-linear, meandering pace. This video shows the game's title screen and introduction.
