Fatal Inertia - Perfect World Championship Series (Real 360 - Old)

Love this game. Edit as of 2025! Xenia works now, as promised I will do a full playthrough. Unfortunately Xenia is very janky and somehow after I first boot the game there's some kind of latent memory left over or a memory leak or something- I can boot up the game one time and then in any subsequent attempts it crashes with some kind of invalid memory error on start up until I restart my PC. It's not really an issue since FI is actually a very stable game, once it's up it's up. But it's still a pain. I have been told that many people straight up cannot run Fatal Inertia through Xenia to begin with so I guess I have to count my blessings. This game does work perfectly on Steam Deck however, so it seems likely these bizarre-o issues are Windows related, and that people running Xenia on Linux via Proton or Wine should have it just fine. The playthrough will mostly exist as modern high fidelity documentation of the game and its contents. It will be 100%, but I intend to beat the game as a normal player would first and then sweep through afterwards to clean up the rest of the unfinished content. In the meantime, me and ‪@Enders2‬ are planning to try and build a small community around this game and playing it. EX, mostly, due to the game 1) being much easier to grasp, 2) being a better product in general, and 3) RPCS netplay is very straight forwards and easy, but we do have the framework set up for 360 FI if anyone is so inclined. If for whatever reason you're wondering, I do prefer base FI's physics, but I can't lie and say EX isn't an objectively superior product (minus the absurdly overzealous rubberbanding lmao). They compliment each other. Fatal Inertia is a different game to 'anti grav' racers, it's a proper hovercraft racing game, even if EX is toned down. Even now I spent a solid few minutes re-watching this video just mesmerized by the way the craft effortlessly glides over terrain, as much a slave to its own inertia as it is to my control. ...That being said, being that both FIs are Unreal 3 games, it's very possible to mod them. While it would almost certainly break the AI, hypothetically a modded version of EX with 360 physics isn't impossible. Have a blessed day.
