MiSTer FPGA - Dr. Franken II / Game Boy

This sequel is pretty much more of the same from the first game, but more refined in some ways. Movement is not as laggy, and it still has some pretty good pixel art. The weapon is downgraded though, and does not work on most enemies you encounter. I found the platforming very frustrating as well. There are a good 5 mins in this video of me trying to jump between limbs on a tree to collect some coins, where you have like a 1 or 2 pixel spot to land on for each one. Mix that with the floaty and hard to control jumping mechanics, and its kind of frustrating.
