Summary of the story: This story is a short biography of Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev. He is a Russian scientist. He created a table of chemical elements. He was born in the mid-nineteenth century. He was the youngest of seventeen children. His father died when Mendeleev was a little boy. The scientist had a good education. He worked in different fields: chemistry, industry, and agriculture. Mendeleev was married twice. There are several myths about him. They say that he invented vodka and saw his table in a dream. It is not true. He loved classical music and chess. He also loved making things with his hands. For example, suitcases. In his old age, he was completely blind. Mendeleev gave lectures to women and hated racism. He loved freedom. The scientist did not have a Nobel Prize. He lived seventy-two years and died of pneumonia. The suggested steps for working with the video: 1. First, just watch the video. 2.
