3DO Stella 7 Dragon’s Revenge - intro and gameplay

Stellar 7: Draxon's Revenge is a sci-fi battle-tank simulation game released in 1993 and developed by Dynamix. There was already a Stella 7 game released for the PC which had animated cut scenes and a very similar battle-tank style gameplay. The scenery is poor and distant mountains never get any closer and there's hardly anything to look at apart from the rocky surface of the planet. Similia to the PC version, a player pilots the Raven attack ship and wipes out waves of Arcturans enemies which are replaced with a mothership that drops the level boss. Defeat the boss and you pass through the warp gate to the next level . The gameplay is repetitive and there are no weapons to choose - just the main laser cannon . Its a pretty boring game but maybe looked nice for the time. If the cinematics had more of a storyline and were more engaging - and the gameplay required a bit more strategy - it might have been a hit. Personally it ranks as a 2 stars out of 5 game .
