Lemmings Revolution LP Part 1 (1-1 - 4-6)

Part 1 of my Lemmings Revolution LP. Yup, finally back with another LP that I've been wanting to record for a while. I been meaning to start in the last few days, but I ran into several hiccups along the way. For one thing, it's a huge pain to set up the game correctly on modern machines. You have the color glitch in which you need to apply the color patch. Another is not as bad, but the game crashing every time you exit. I thought it was something I would have to just put up with and endure, but luckily I have a download that prevents that from happening. Just as I was all set to record, then I run into more problems, specifically recording with OBS. It's not a dealbreaker or anything, but when recording via window capture, a yellow border will appear around the screen you're recording. It would be very nice to have, as it can be very distracting while recording, but fortunately it doesn't show up in the finished video after you stop recording. So, I thought I was going to have to put up with that, but fortunately I found a working solution. Then I did some more reading up online via the Lemmings Forums, where it mentions a third-party software called DXWnd. For the one where you don't have the problem with the game crashing when exiting, it would crash when you load it with the software. Then I tried it with the one installed to Program files folder, and fortunately it can play the game windowed. However, with the capture method of Windows 1903 or later, the yellow border appears. Luckily, I can switch to the Windows 7 one and it disappears and the game records properly, meaning it captures the window screen perfectly and you can see all I see in the recording in the video itself. One final hiccup was upon getting into the title menu the mouse cursor would immediately move to the bottom right until you right-click. The answer here is to check the box to override the high dpi in the compatibility tab when right-clicking the .exe game file. This will override the windows size that you set in DXWnd, but simply readjust the dimension numbers to get a comfortable screen size for recording. So, after all those annoyances and nuisances, finally everything works, and hence the LP can finally start. Solved all the levels in the first 4 columns. As mentioned in the video, I will be going from top to bottom of each column, and I will play the columns in order, meaning I will need to finish all the levels in the column on the left before I can proceed to the next one. Mostly just tutorial levels and one with the water lemmings, although not for the acid type, interestingly enough. They will appear later in the game, and believe me, future videos will get more interesting later on. In any case, it's great to finally get back into this game after so long, and I'm happy that I can at least record my playthrough of it. This would be the second such one for the game, after Colorful Arty's. ‪@damintsustin‬ was going to do one too, but I think he ran into problems with recording the game. There are some others, but they're silent walkthroughs of recorded solutions. Finally, if anyone knows of a way to have the game respect the user's decision to change music volume settings, I would like to hear it. It unfortunately resets each time you start a new game. In any case, I will hit record after I do so, so you won't see it at the start each time ;) 0:00 - Introduction 15:26 - 1-1 17:39 - 1-2 18:43 - 1-3 20:06 - 2-1 22:01 - 2-2 23:32 - 2-3 24:30 - 2-4 26:06 - 3-1 27:25 - 3-2 30:56 - 3-3 32:26 - 3-4 34:12 - 3-5 37:13 - 4-1 38:57 - 4-2 39:58 - 4-3 42:13 - 4-4 46:06 - 4-5 48:56 - 4-6
