Panzer General II was released three years later for Windows 95, and that game was also a hit. Panzer General II got very good reviews from most PC game magazines at the time, like PC Gamer, and Computer Gaming world to name a few. There were other games that used the same engine as this game, like People's General, and the backdrop of that game was in East Asia Pacific region related to modern warfare. On the other hand, the Panzer General franchise was related to World War 2 from 1939 to August 1945, and it mainly dealt with the European theater of war. This game was a lot more difficult than all the other Panzer General sequels that I had played. Back in the day, I had played all the Panzer General games, like Panzer General I, II, 3D Assault, and Scorched Earth. For some reason, the games got less difficult as newer versions were released. If you like military strategy games then you would like this game. You had derivatives of Panzer General, like Allied General, Pacific General, Fantasy General, Star General, and People's General which all used the same game engine with different genres. They had turn based strategy games, like the Steel Panther series, and the Dungeon's and Dragons type of role playing games which they were known for in the 1980s, and early 1990s. Turned based strategy games were popular in the 1980s, and up to the late 1990s. After we had more powerful computers, with the advent of Pentium II/Pentium III/Athlon processors, people wanted to play real time strategy games more and more. Turn based strategy games were going into the wayside. A good analogy would be, like isometric 2d arcade shooters was a format that was getting old and boring by the 1990s. With computer hardware, like 3d accelerators, and faster CPUs people wanted to play games, like Starcraft, Warcraft II, Shogo Mobile Armored Division, Quake II, Falcon 4.0, etc. We still have very popular turn based strategy games today, and that would be the Sid Meier's Civilization games, like Civilization V (2009), and Civilization VI (2016). Millions of copies of those games sold despite having games with amazing graphics and 3d capabilities. From time to time, I play retro games like this, and I still think it is fun even today. The gaming engine for this game is old, but its timeless, like chess is timeless. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ [Links] ◙ Computer Gaming Videos • ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ █▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█
