Like the AGI version, this is a second playthrough, though in this case DOSBOX actually crashed (sometimes happens with MT-32) which meant I had to replay the entire thing again. Unlike the AGI version, you can not get the Magic shield before the other two treasures, so if you want to get the maximum score, you have to take the beanstalk route. If you take the staircase route, there is chance that you'll lose a treasure. Also the answer for the gnome's name is different from the AGI version. The AGS Remake likewise is based on this version. The SCI version should be set to 8500 cycles in DOSBOX to prevent the game from going too fast. If you have the SCI version, it can also be played in SCUMMVM, which can be played in MT-32 mode with digital sound effects.
