Pocky & Rocky Reshrined | FULL GAME | No Commentary | Nintendo Switch

Played as: Pocky, Rocky and Others Story Mode Difficulty: Extra Easy Girl and Tanuki, Gods and Mortals, Spirit and Demon Possession, Death and Resurrection, Retro and Modern. Pocky and Rocky Reshrined is a Cute-'Em-Up with a Time Travel twist. Unfortunately I was unable to play this with another player, nor is there an online option. However, playing Extra Easy allows you to progress through the story with infinite lives and no punishment for doing so. That being said, I did have to play Normal Difficulty and Collect 10,000 Coins (supposedly) to unlock this Mode. I say "supposedly" because there's no running total of Coins Collected, the on-screen amount caps at 999. You can check your stats in the Main Menu and it doesn't seem like I collected enough Coins for the Mode to unlock, but it did anyway. Clocking in at 1 hour and 30 minutes, this game provides plenty of gameplay and variety to keep players interested. The 16-bit style graphics are bright, colorful, detailed and well animated. It definitely evokes a feeling of nostalgia, while adding modern day flairs such as Widescreen presentation and 1080p Resolution. Each level provides an assortment of enemies that have their own attack patterns and ways of defeating them. Bosses are huge and challenging, while exhibiting predictable patterns that players can learn and exploit. I would highly recommend this game to fans of the Pocky & Rocky (Kiki Kaikai) series, as well as retro game enthusiasts. My final score would have been a perfect 5 if this game had included the option of having an online Friend (or Rando) join in the action. So, grab a real person and hand them a controller to help you battle to the minions of evil. 4 out of 5 Stars!
