Doshin the Giant Playthrough - Intro & Day 1 (GameCube, PAL English version)

I noticed there were no playthroughs on youtube of this rather obscure game. Many of you, especially if you live in the US, might not know too much about this game. You may only know about it from the Love and Hate Giant trophies from Super Smash Bros. Melee. Doshin the Giant was originally an N64DD game, developed by Param and Nintendo, released in 1999 under the name "Kyojin no Doshin 1". It had an expansion/sequel released in 2000. Both were released only in Japan, due to the N64DD never making it out of Japan and being a failure in general. When the GameCube was released, it found itself released in Japan once again. However, Nintendo made a deal with Atlus, where Doshin the Giant would be released in Europe, while an obscure Atlus game, Cubivore, would be released in North America. This video is of the European version of Doshin the Giant. While it received, not necessarily the greatest reviews of all time, I find this to be a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable game, and grossly obscure, underrated and underappreciated. It's only really good for god sim fans, and can be compared somewhat to Black & White, just a bit more slow paced and simplistic, I suppose. You may not enjoy this if you don't like sim games or can only play fast paced games where something is always happening. The object of the game is to play as Doshin the Love Giant or Jashin the Hate Giant, and to help the villagers of Barudo Island build 16 monuments, of which there are two versions: the love version, and the hate version, depending on how they feel about you. You also have a guide, Sodoru, who is a spirit of the island and is the game's tutorial guy and narrator. I'll be playing through the game the standard way, which is to build the love versions of each monument, but I may show some Hate Giant rampages later on. :P There are 4 villages to begin with: the red one, the green one, the yellow one, and blue one. In order to get all 16 monuments, you will need to mix and match each of them, eventually. There's a lot more to explain, but I don't want this to go on too long for now. This first video shows the game's intro, as well as all the starter villages. It also shows the construction of the red village's monument, the X-Type Dolmen. New Monuments: X-Type Dolmen
