My forty-third Let’s Play I hope you enjoy CHAPTER 1 (RUPERT’S HEARTBREAK) LEVEL 1 (THE VOYAGE) Location: Saint Helena, South Atlantic Ocean INTRODUCTION After supporting me through years of researching the origins of the Jewel Board, my beloved Emma had left me for the wealthy and cavalier Sebastian Grenard. Inconsolable, I ran from the university with the notion of joining the Navy. Alas, I was too old to enlist, and so, I joined the engine staff of a cargo ship en route to South Africa. With a heavy heart, I set my sights on the sea. My journey ahead would be wrought with trials and tribulations, all the better to distract me. CONDITIONS Four Common Jewels (Amethysts, Diamonds, Emeralds, and Red Garnets) (Level 1-1-1) Four Common Jewels (Amethysts, Diamonds, Emeralds, and Red Garnets) plus Gold Coins (Level 1-1-2) Five Common Jewels (Amethysts, Diamonds, Emeralds, Red Garnets, and Sapphires) plus Gold Coins (Level 1-1-3+) LEVELS Level 1-1-1 Squares: 49 Journal Entry: Drat! Those sailors were such a miserable lot. “Your Highness”, they called me. They made me the target of their scorn and for what? I was a scholar, a gentleman. I should have been dining at the captain’s table. Instead, I found myself the target of cruel gibberish from twisted minds. Level 1-1-2 Squares: 57 Journal Entry: I’d met a curious man. Went by the name Hani. Like a savage, he was covered from head to foot in mysterious tattoos. That seasoned old deckhand had become my closest confidant. That fact alone should have caused me grief. But, instead, my grieving came from the knowledge that Hani held about Jewel Boards. He seemed to hold claim to legends no other living man knows… Level 1-1-3 Squares: 96 Buried Jewels: 2 Partials Journal Entry: Thoughts of my beautiful, sweet, and angelic Emma with that lowlife, no-good heir Sebastian Grenard. Fits of rage followed by immeasurable heartache. If only I could have figured a way to annex my need for knowledge of the Jewel Board with my need for the love of Emma Swimmingly. Alas! Without Emma, I was but a shell of the man I sought to be. Level 1-1-4 Squares: 76 Buried Jewels: 8 Partials Journal Entry: Hani spoke of an ancient African civilization that had crafted the grandest of all Jewel Boards – and how its misuse led to the tribe’s demise. Hani told me that I had to prove my worthiness by solving Jewel Puzzles and earning his tale. My heart might had been weakened, but my head remained strong! I dare say I would learn Hani’s sage stories! Level 1-1-5 Squares: 74 Buried Jewels: 2 Geodes Journal Entry: I’d decided to pull myself up and dust myself off. There was no more time for foolish moping and carrying on. I faced the fact that Emma was out of my life and that my mistress, as always, was the Jewel Board. There was no sense turning back. I had to follow the path I laid out for myself. Like if you enjoyed the video
