N64 NHL Blades of Steel '99

"Blades of Steel" is an absolute all-time hockey classic, either the arcade game or the excellent NES and Game Boy versions. Having sadly skipped the SNES, I was quite looking forward to this Nintendo 64 version, but Konami kinda lost their way. It is officially licensed NHL game so there are all of the teams and players from the time period, the presentation is spot on with excellent atmosphere and audio commentary but... by trying to make more of a simulation, it misses out n the fun or the original arcade roots. Plus some really dodgy controls poil the best laid plays. Still a nice effort, but there are better ice hockey games on the N64. Enjoy some Red Wings versus L.A. Kings action!
