We feel that only you, our agency’s top archaeologist, can help us uncover their true history. Along with this letter, we’ve sent you a bag of unusual rune stones, left centuries ago by the last Mayan Princess, Kisin. Carved into each of these runes, you’ll find ancient riddles which we believe, when solved, will lead you to pieces of lost Mayan paintings and Princess Kisin’s journal entries. Your task is to piece together the clues in these paintings and uncover the truth behind the Royal Family’s demise. Good luck on your journey! Only the dense forest separated these soldiers from our cities. Meanwhile, my father, the Mayan King, was preparing his warriors for the coming invasion. With spears sharpened and wooden shields prepared, these men were ready to defend our city with their lives. It was in those darkest of hours that I went to my father, in hopes of learning why the conquistadors had come to our homeland. This relic, called the Amulet of the Immortals, has been passed down through many generations of our family. For centuries, we have hidden the amulet in a vault, deep within the royal chambers of our palace. Come with me and I will show you.” After walking to the dusty vault, he took out the peculiar necklace and placed it firmly in my hand. In the distance, I could hear the roar of gunpowder and men shouting. The conquistadors’ invasion had begun.
