I couldn't find a Nauticrawl speedrun after a cursory search on Youtube, so here you go. It's not a great game to speedrun as it's quite RNG-heavy with the map generation. Still, a sub-30 minute speedrun should be simple with enough tries. I would assume a sub-25 minute run is possible with better zeppelin-map RNG. in Nauticrawl, you are a slave that has stolen a strange vehicle, yet you know absolutely nothing about it. You have to quickly figure out how to operate your machine semi-effectively before you die from your own incompetence. I don't really go over any of the controls, but you'd probably be able to figure out how to maneuver just by watching this. Nauticrawl is tragically short -- when I completed it the first time I felt like I had somehow skipped half the game, and that I was missing out on some key game mechanics I was supposed to learn. You only need to visit two other islands total, yet there is several more you're allowed to go to. I feel like with some ingenuity, this could have been used to design other machines that you have to learn how to operate all over again. Maybe a vehicle that has to traverse mountainous terrain, or a submarine that has to maintain specific depth, or something like that. And that's most of the enjoyment you'll find in Nauticrawl. Not learning how to become a master at it, but learning how to become competent at all with absolutely no instruction. The gameplay loop, once you understand the exact controls and mechanics, is sadly very simple and easy. I found myself wanting more once I got used to the ultra chunky controls. It's definitely a game you play once just for the experience and story. Once you learn that the game is actually turn-based, and once you figure out exactly how the cloak works (just make sure the bar is always in the green and turn off all the screens before moving), then you can pretty much survive indefinitely. The left screen is almost completely useless in my opinion: it's completely irrelevant to a speedrun, and even in my first playthrough I only used it once or twice to check some administrative things. The merchant is also not used at all in a speedrun, and there's even one more NPC that I didn't see at all during the run. Despite all this, Nauticrawl was a fantastic experience. I just wish it was way longer.
