Pac-Land (TG16) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Namco and NEC's 1990 platformer/arcade game port for the TurboGrafx-16, Pac-Land. The game features 32 unique levels before showing the ending. It then loops at a harder difficulty level - I show entire first loop, and the the first level of the second loop at the very end. Pac-Land is an absolutely superb port of the 1984 arcade title (that was, in turn based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon) - especially considering that it's playing on a system from 1987. Save for a few item placements and a bit of background detail, it's virtually arcade-perfect. It's also quite a unique title - unlike all the previous games in the series, Pac-Land is a platformer, but he still has to avoid the ghosts (or eat them after getting a pellet), collect fruit, and generally run like hell from all the threats constantly coming at him. It's brilliant platforming, and it's extremely difficult. For me, though, that's what makes it so great. It's never a push over, but it always feels like you can do it with just a little bit more practice. I'd recommend this to anyone that enjoys the 80s arcade classics, and especially this version. It's easily the best of all of the ports the game received through the 80s/early 90s. _______ No cheats were used during the recording of this video. NintendoComplete (
