Hello everyone! In today's video I'll show you how to make waxmelts. Wax melt, also known as aroma wax, is a small piece of wax that is used in a special warmer, it melts during heating and spreads a pleasant scent. The aroma of waxmelts is more intense than aroma of regular candles, and you can also control it by gradually adding melts to the burner. It is also possible to use it as a sachet, using an organza bag To make waxmelts you will need: 1. Mold 2. Pillar wax 3. Weighing scale 4. Thermometer or pyrometer 5. Fragrance 6. Candle dye 7. Melting pot 8. Spatula First of all, place the melting pot on your digital scale and tare the weight. Weigh required amount of wax. Pillar wax is used for waxmelts, personally I use Ecoolive Pillar wax, you can also replace it with another, for instant, Kerasoy Pillar wax or even gel wax. Begin to melt the wax with a double boiler or on a hot plate. Heat the wax to the recommended temperature, stirring gently. During heating, keeping it under 90°C/194ºF. If you are preparing aroma wax for the first time in this form, then to find out the filling level, simply pour water into the mold and weigh its amount. The weight of the liquid will be approximately equal to the its volume. You can also add candle dye or glitter if you desire When the wax reaches close to 75-85 °C/167-185ºF, add a candle dye and stir until the dye is completely mixed in. Continue to heat the wax The optimal addition of dyes is from 0.3% to 0.5%. Since this value is quite difficult to measure, I put the dye without measuring. Also you can use liquid dye. If you are unsure about the color, you can check the resulting shade before pouring the candle: just pour a small amount of wax onto your desk. But this is only an approximate color, in the end it may differ slightly. While your wax is heating, add 7-10% fragrance at the temperature of 185ºF/85ºC. Stir the wax melt mixture gently but thoroughly for 3 minutes to make sure the fragrance binds fully with the wax. To calculate the introduction of fragrance and the amount of wax, you can use a candle calculator, I will leave it in the description below. Next allow the wax to cool down and pour into your silicone mold. For best results, pour slowly. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's directions for the wax melt melter that you choose to use. If this is your first candle, you can start at 65 degrees and adjust the temperature in increments of 5 degrees up or down, if the end result does not suit you Let your wax melts to completely cool. I wait about 20-30 minutes before demoulding. Then gently bend your silicone mold to loosen the melts and flip over to release. For best fragrance throw, let your wax melts to cure for 1-2 weeks before use or at least if you don't want waiting too long for 2-3 days The wax can be reused up to 4-5 times until all the scent disappears. It is not recommended to light for longer than 2 hours. The used aroma wax easily comes off the aroma lamp bowl, you just need to warm it up slightly, you can also put the aroma lamp in the freezer for a few minutes. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
