4x4 Evolution - Sega Dreamcast – Intro, Quick Race & Career mode gameplay [HD 1080p 60fps]

Also known as 4x4 Evo on the front of the box and in-game, 4x4 is another North Amercian Dreamcast exclusive game. It was one of those games reviewed by European magazines and there's been rumours of a white label PAL promotional copy for years as a result. However as Randomised Gaming still hasn't seen one after about 10 years of looking, more likely it was just the magazines reviewing an American copy of the game. Still seems old that there were print adverts for the game in some European magazines listing Take 2 as the publisher for the Dreamcast version. 4x4 Evolution is best described as a realistic style racing game, with Mario Kart style tracks with the handling of the Mako from Mass Effect when going over different terrain. Bonker is one word to sum up this game, it's not often you get a game where picking the wrong tire will badly effect your race performance. While at the same time you drive past stealth planes parked in a secret base and have to dodge on coming traffic. The races work differently to most racing games as while there is a laid out track, you can go off road at any point. Each track features a set number of checkpoints on every stage and as long as you drive through them in the right order, how you get to them is totally up to you. Meaning that there is plenty of room to take detours and shortcuts on a lot of tracks. 4x4 Evolution runs at 30fps on Sega Dreamcast. セガドリームキャスで4x4エボリューションが日本でリリースされなかった 4x4 Evolution was also released on PC, Mac & PlayStation 2, the PS2 release was published in Europe by Take 2 in 2001, however since then the game hasn't been re-released.
