Ganbare Natsuki-san [がんばれ!菜月さん!] Game Sample - PC/Doujin

Another game by Alpha Secret Base, this is one of their more original titles. It's stated that this game draws some of its inspiration from the cult classic, Umihara Kawase for the Super Famicom (or more specifically, Umihara Kawase Shun for Playstation) and it's not too hard to see why. Umihara Kawase was an original puzzler/platformer combo that featured a nineteen year old school girl named Umihara Kawase who is lost in another world filled with marine life and captures fish and uses a fishing pole to cleverly angle her way through levels. This game isn't quite on par with UK or UKS, but clearly keeps the emphasis on the fun. Good luck Natsuki! In this game, you play with, you guessed it, Natsuki-san, an atheletic young woman with a penchant for swimming and running. For whatever reason, she finds herself in a world full of colorful two-dimensional backdrops and finds herself compelled to grab various objects to clear levels like tasty snacks, things I don't quite understand, and something that was clearly meant to be an Xbox. Oh, and she has this rotational crane thingy that you can use to swing around almost effortlessly. This game is all about dexterity and jumping. You want to clear the stages as quickly as possible while jumping as little as possible. The game saves your progress, so you can try and impress your friends! Alpha Secret Base also has a thing for art galleries, as this game has one as well. Neat. This video shows some artwork, the tutorial, and some of the levels in action. Enjoy.
