Mario Andretti's Racing Challenge (1991) - Every PC F1 Game

Mario Andretti's Racing Challenge by Distinctive Software/Electronic Arts, 1991. This is a mildly simulation-like game, with rather strange low-polygon tracks and cars that enjoy wobbling! 1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 This is using the Le Mans track, as the game doesn't have Monza. The rival cars seem quite competitive here, as they get away from me here! 2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:32 There's no wet weather in this game, the only effect (apart from crash debris/smoke) is a rough smoke effect on skidding/accelerating tyres. 3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:43 This game does feature Monaco, but it's a vague version! At least there's a tunnel! This game is also notable for having the behind/ahead views not very fixed to the car, hence the panning around shown here. 4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 0:58 This is using the Hockenheim track, as the game doesn't have Spa-Francorchamps. There's also no wet weather in this game, so here's some dry weather gameplay instead! 5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:16 This is using Laguna Seca, as the game doesn't have Interlagos. This game features multiple racing disciplines. For Stock Cars and Indy Cars, when you pit, you get an overhead shot of the car, where you can choose to refuel and change tyres on either sides. However, when you pit with the Formula 1 car, it just repositions you in the pitlane. I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional. It's also easy to catch your car on the pitlane wall (as seen here, causing smoke/damage effects), plus, when you exit, the car control feels all-over-the-place, as shown by the weaving at the end! 6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:26 Again, this is using Laguna Seca, as the game doesn't have Montreal. It's hard to wreck your car in this game by hitting other cars alone, unless you do so at very high speed! It's easy to wreck your car on walls though.
