Amiga 500 Longplay [194] Hong Kong Phooey

Played by: Ironclaw The plot: "Baron Von Bankjob has escpaed from jail! Who comes to the rescue? It's Hong Kong Phooey, emerging from the sticky top drawer of his special file cabinet, with the help of trusty police station cat, Spot." A bit sluggish controls making it hard to time punches and kicks. Also kinda difficult to jump sometimes without accidentally punch/kick instead. If you jump on one of those vertically moving platforms and go up with it, but then jump off, you need to restart as it won't come back down. It runs a bit slow here and there. At least on a stock Amiga 500. The knives can be punched/kicked, but there's no graphical or soundical (my own word) hit effect. It just disappears so you don't take damage. This is the WHDLoad version, and as usual the cracker/patcher/whatever likes to put their names in the highscore list. The original names are Mark, Andy, Stuart, Pete, and Jason. No jumping animation... lazy. Same for other games too, kinda like Huckleberry Hound, but in that one at least he rotates, so that's something. At 03:55 I switched to sound effects, couldn't have both at the same time. Turned the music back on in the end so the ending wouldn't be silent. Also showed his ducking pose, or whatever it is - couldn't find the Amiga manual, but it says it's "duck" in the Sinclair ZX Spectrum manual, so that's probably what it is, still couldn't find any use for it. He doesn't duck low enough to avoid the knives, so don't know what it's for. Added the game over part to the end of the longplay. - Disclaimer: Most videos by World of Longplays use SaveStates!
