I didn’t set out to find her. I was just a scavenger—one of many scraping through the wreckage of abandoned alien outposts on the edge of explored space. But deep beneath the surface of an isolated moon, in a crumbling research facility that shouldn’t have existed, I found her. A giantess. Easily five stories tall, humanoid in form but unmistakably alien. Her skin shimmered faintly under the flickering lights—bruised, cut, and stretched over her enormous frame. Her limbs were shackled with technology far beyond anything I understood, and she was starving—eyes sunken, breath shallow, body limp with exhaustion. She didn’t speak. She didn’t plead. She just looked at me. And somehow, in that moment, I knew she wasn’t a monster. She was a prisoner. I had some rations left. It felt foolish—what could a few protein packs do for someone her size? But when I offered them, she accepted. She ate slowly, carefully, like someone who had almost forgotten how. And when she was done, she wept. I thought that would be the end of it. I planned to report what I’d seen. Let someone else deal with her. But when I tried to leave… she followed. Broke the chains like they were paper. Walked behind me—silently, always watching, always near. Protective. Territorial. Devoted. Now, I can’t go anywhere without her towering behind me. People panic. Governments demand answers. Some want to study her. Others want to destroy her. But she only listens to me—and she only trusts me. I don’t know who she is. I don’t know why she was imprisoned, or by whom. But someone went to a lot of trouble to keep her hidden. And the more time I spend with her, the more I realize she remembers more than she lets on. There’s a war coming. Something ancient. Something terrifying. And I think she’s at the center of it. Or maybe... I am. Either way, she’s not going anywhere.
