Bishkek is the capital and largest city of Kyrgyzstan, a city of republican significance, the administrative center of the Chui region. Bishkek is located in the very center of the Chui Valley at the foot of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too Mountains (one of the mountain ranges of the internal Tien Shan), at an altitude of 700-900 meters above sea level.
