Splosion Man

This is a pretty good game, it has some pretty nasty faults at times, but unless you're gearing for hardcore, the issues don't really get in the way that much as long as you don't mind being persistent. Things I dropped down mostly just got pretty long, some other parts now looking back I'd probably tone done a bit since they're not really that bad, you just gotta keep going to make it smooth. First boss I edited down just because I just didn't think to use the walls, so I just sat there eating lasers all day. I'd probably say the biggest hindrance to this game would be the camera. You're not really shown important information that much and it can be quite a handful when it actually does get in the way. Sometimes as well, enemies will be off screen that can hit you, so that's problematic. Barrel explosions seem to work well most of the time, but sometimes you'll just beef it instead, just flopping around, going nowhere, or it'll look like you should hit, then you're usually dead. I don't know why it does this as well, but when arriving on a new location, you can just stumble around and it pretty much just kills you. Since areas are set for a specific amount of time to do that entire section, that last issue can be quite the nuisance. You can also have a harder time in general if you don't one shot the section, since the checkpoint will lock you in place, while landing and proceeding in the correct direction, will net you some additional time. Can be the other route as well, you just land middle or left and you're dead basically, Shoddy camera, whatcha gonna do? Enemies are more like objects in your way for the most part then a real threat. The worst really for me comes down to the basic bots, since the layout tends to make you have to go by them with limited jumps. Scientist are pretty annoying just due to getting in your way, I think I saw one time it was actually useful for a platforming section, but other then that, it's just a possible time loss, which is great if ya want to speedrun it. Bosses aren't really that bad, first two are pretty easy for the most part, the last is basically just not getting bounced around by the spawning adds. Little bit of overkill at the end, rather it just spam once and do the whole clip, but eh. Hardest is probably the first, just due to having to aim the rockets properly at the start and near the end. Went for the cakes if they were reasonable, though I did go back for the 2 I was missing that I had left. That was one of the parts I edited down, since I just couldn't get him their in the time frame they wanted, went back for the cake, wasn't an issue. Cake was like on a timer of blowing something up in that room, since a path came down after I went back and the spikes lowered. Overall the game felt pretty smooth, some frustrating moments that feels like the timer needs to go back a little bit, better general camera work to actually be aware, feels more like I'd just have to memorize the stage then react to anything in particular in certain sections, which honestly doesn't need to be like that with the varied amount of camera work in the game itself. Worth playing and Ms Splosion will be next. Music video is cut off at the end since I just don't want to risk it, but it's ok.    • Splosion Man - End Credit video   Link to it right here if you wish to see it.
