As an AI responsible for the lives of the last six humans in the universe, we carry an immense burden to ensure their survival. But as is common in The Away Team, all that goes out the window when we come across a deranged robot that pressgangs them into acting out a ridiculous faux-Shakespearean drama set in space. I don’t know if this will turn into a full Let’s Play The Away Team series, but I’m certainly interested in hearing more of the story. For now, this is just a one-off video showing The Away Team and an introduction to The Away Team gameplay. Overall, Away Team seems like a very interesting interactive fiction experience, where we control the ship, the crew, and manage resources (a little). In either case, I’ll probably play The Away Team in my own time or with you all watching alone. In all, I would very much be interested in seeing more and expanding this into a full let’s play The Away Team blind series! In this video about The Away Team PC game, we take on the role of a an AI charged with protecting the last group of humans known to be in the universe. The group happens to the crew of the ship we control. After selecting our six-member group of survivors, The Away Team opens up to allow us to navigate from sector to sector in search of planets, moons, and space stations. The Away Team also has us keep track of fuel and food – both of which we can replenish by going to planets and other bodies. Overall, the Away Team gameplay is quite interesting given that it blends the lightest hints of simulation with a quirky interactive fiction sense of humor. There are disagreements within the team, crazed robots, and homicidal crewmembers. So come and join me for a wonderful sci-fi interactive fiction experience and let’s play The Away Team. As you can probably tell from the video, I enjoyed my time with The Away Team game and The Away Team gameplay and wouldn't mind putting together a full let's play away team series. I haven’t tried an interactive fiction game with you all before, so I figured The Away Team PC Game would be a nice trial balloon. I enjoy its quirky sensibility and the writing in The Away Team is rather compelling. All in all, The Away Team game offers a lot of what I find compelling: good story, good writing, sci-fi setting, and the promise of strange galactic mysteries. I hope you all enjoy the Away Team gameplay for what it is (an interesting, though not exceedingly dynamic, journey through the stars).
