Beach soccer is also known as beach football, sand football or beasal. Beach soccer is a modified variant of association football that is played on a beach or a sandy surface. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opponent. A goal is scored by striking the ball into the opponent’s goal. Beach Soccer is played between two teams of 5 players including the goalkeeper. A team is allowed an unlimited number of substitutions. In beach soccer, players are not allowed to wear shoes, but they are allowed to have ankle guards. The game is played for a set duration of 36 minutes consisting of three 12-minute periods. The team is supposed to drive the ball into the opponent’s goals with any part of their body apart from the hand or arm up to the shoulder. Like regular football, yellow and red cards are issued to the players. In case of a yellow card, the player must leave the pitch for two minutes. In the case of a red card, the player is asked to leave the game for its entirety. At the end of the game, the team with more goals win.
