Zork II Walkthrough With Sound Effects

Just like our Zork heroine, we live in perilous times. I hope as you follow her through this next adventure, you'll find refuge and inspiration. Good literature is like that, and IF is no different! Watching graphics scroll wildly across the screen (what passes as modern video gaming these days) is mildly nauseating and disorientating. Like we need more of that! We know all too well how one life that's been led astray can do terrible things, but others who keep the faith in themselves and humanity can create a beautiful world. If the creators of Zork could do that and fit it on less than 64 kilobytes, anything is possible. On that topic, here's a quick technical history of just how some MIT grads did exactly that, though I admit I can't quite follow the whole thing:
Experience helps, so this time I based this video on...another YouTube video!    • Zork II walkthrough (Apple II - Infocom)   This channel has a lot of retro Apple games which are pretty fun to watch, BTW. Their version is seamless and deceptively straightforward. In reality, playing the game is anything but. It requires frequent "saves" and I couldn't do that on the emulator I found, linked below. The Wizard of Frobozz casts random spells and some of them cause your death at the most inconvenient times; you forget to turn on your lamp and a grue eats you; your load is too heavy and you keep dropping things you need, then realize you left a critical treasure on the volcano ledge which collapsed already...you get the picture. Another plus with IF is you get infinite do-overs! Hope you enjoy! 🇺🇦 ✊🏿 ❤️ 🏳️‍🌈 📚 Online pc emulator:
