Dr. Mario Online Rx (Wii) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Nintendo's 2008 puzzle game for the Nintendo Wii, Dr. Mario Online ℞. This video is a full run through the Classic mode, ending with the final credits sequence. Dr. Mario Online ℞ (or Dr. Mario & Germ Buster, as it was called in Australia and Europe) is a traditional, slightly enhanced version of the classic Dr. Mario game that was sold exclusively through the eShop as WiiWare. In addition to its faithful, clean, and generally attractive face-lift, the game features a few new features. There is, of course, the titular multi-player mode, as well as the Germ/Virus Buster games from Brain Age 2, updated for 4P-simultaneous play using the controllers' pointer functionality. There is support for Miis, too, so yay, I guess, if you liked Miis. I can't say as I was ever particularly invested in them, but if you have an intimate bond with your own bobbleheaded grunting avatar, you might get a kick out of that functionality. Of all the Dr. Mario games that have come out over the years, the ones that I find myself appreciating the most are the ones that respect two simple expectations that I, as a longtime fan, tend to hold for the series: 1. I don't want flashy, new, endlessly overwrought mechanics shoehorned in. It shouldn't be complex just for the sake of being complex. 2. I don't want the game asking me to buy anything beyond the initial purchase. That's a surefire way to make me quit on the spot. And thankfully, Dr. Mario on the Wii respects both! It gives me an accurately named classic mode separate from the new stuff, and there is no DLC in sight! It's basically a dolled-up version of what we already had on the NES thirty-one years ago, and I'm totally fine with that since it's just as fun as the original.
