Review: Byte Driver (Steam) - Defunct Games

Defunct Games reviews Byte Driver by Vector Hat, available now on PC, Linux and Mac. Although a bit more advanced than the fictional backstory lets on, Byte Driver is a clever throwback racer where you have to hack to survive. It's a loving tribute that doesn't just evoke the spirit of some of the earliest arcade racing games, but it actually adds to the formula in a number of creative ways. This is one of the few times when I wished that the game's made-up meta story was actually true.
