Infinifactory 100% in 1:53:02

I stream my attempts on twitch:   / moknicorra   This is an old PB. My current PB can be found here:    • Infinifactory 100% in 1:29:07   Prior to this, the only thing I could find relating Infinifactory to any kind of speedrun is one post on reddit from 3 years ago of some guy talking about how he'd like to speedrun the game. As far as I can tell, he never followed up on that. I now know why. Don't speedrun this game. Actually, I take it back. Speedrun the Overlord campaign. It's a brisk run of fewer than 40 minutes, which means you can easily knock out run after run after run. The schematics are simple enough and can be pretty easily remembered so you can mostly focus on speed, yet the later puzzles require schematics intricate and precise enough to give your brain a decent enough workout. But fuck the Resistance campaign. More specifically, fuck the Homeward Fleet. That one chapter alone is almost as long as all of the Overlord campaign. While most good sized puzzles will take 2-3 minutes to solve, all but 2 of the Homeward Fleet puzzles take 6-9 minutes to solve. Nearly all of the (current) schematics are made up of 250+ blocks and a shitload of uncounted platform blocks. Memorizing them is hell. If the more complicated puzzles of the previous chapters took me maybe an hour to memorize, the Homeward Fleet puzzles took me 5+ hours to memorize and get to the point where I could comfortably replicate them without major mistakes. But I knew/expected that going in(which is why I put it off for a while after my first Overlord campaign runs). And now, so do you. Here's some general speedrun information about this game: Timer starts when the conveyor you're on(after being abducted) starts moving. Timer ends when you get home. One major thing that attracted me to this as a speedgame: THERE IS NO RNG*. YOUR TIME IS A DIRECT REFLECTION OF YOUR SKILL/INGENUITY/STAMINA, NOT OF HOW MUCH THE GAME DECIDED TO SCREW YOU OVER. (*there is a single point of RNG in 6-1 where the lemmings might decide to walk against your conveyors. At most, it'll cost 3-5 seconds in a run. If you lose a WR run by like 3 seconds in a 2-hour run due to lemmings, feel free to bitch out the game. Technically a second point of RNG is present in 10-5(where the small fighters fly around randomly), but has no impact on your time.) A 100% run completes all the puzzles. An any% run completes enough puzzle to unlock the last perfomance review of Overlord campaign(can skip 3 puzzles) and enough puzzles in the Resistance campaign to unlock Homeward Fleet's mission conclusion (can skip one puzzle in Production Zone 1 and another puzzle in Atropos Station). The game has no title screen and no in-game way of resetting your progress. You can easily find online how to delete your save game (but keep a copy of it under another name so you can practice on it!). At the moment, the run makes use of no glitches, though some are known. You can easily clip through walls and place blocks out-of-bounds that will affect things in-bounds, but that takes too long to set up anyway. Giant Rotating Arms that clip through walls likewise take too long to set up. All of the schematics in this run are mine(and I encourage future runners to come up with their own schematics as well, balancing building time and solving time, at least until we all reach a consensus of "this schematic is objectively the best for a speedrun purpose"), except for the following puzzles where I just couldn't come up with or be bothered to come up with something better than my casual schematics: (the name is the reddit or youtube user whose schematics I stole and, in most cases, modified slightly for speedrunning purposes) 3-4 Optical Sensor Array Type 4 by DarkMatter_Zombie (  / i_love_game_mechanics  ) 4-5 Drone Maintenance by Marolakwow (   • Infinifactory - Drone Maintenance (32 blocks)  ) 5-3 Gneiss chair by Marolakwow (   • TOP 3 solutions - Gneiss Chair Infinifactory  ) 7-6 Anti-Javelin Satellite by Leo Davidson (   • Infinifactory: [TH-6] Anti Javelin Satelli...  ) 7-7 Big Blowout by Martin Bird (   • Infinifactory - The Big Blowout - PS4  ) 8-4 Structural Frame - Kilian Schnitzel (   • Infinifactory-"STRUCTURAL FRAME"-solution ...  ) 8-6 Mag tube corridor by Marcus (   • Infinifactory Mag-Tube Corridor MAX Input ...  ) 9-3 Laser Calibration Target by Tundrat (  / simple_laser_calibration_target  ) 9-5 Space Buoy by Anders Pettersson (   • Infinifactory Space Buoy  ) 10-1 Navigation Computer by Marolakwow (   • InfiniFactory - Navigation Computer  ) 10-2 Fusion Reactor - Marolakwow (   • InfiniFactory - Fusion Reactor  ) 10-6 Skip Drive - Marolakwow (   • Infinifactory - Skip Drive  )
