To call this a Bubble Bobble clone would be to do the game an injustice. While the games do share the same basic mechanic, this is a really good game in it's own right. I played a demo of the original on the Amiga and then finally played the PC version that was released under a GPL licence many years later. The premise is simple - trap the enemies if a gas cloud then suck them into your methane gun. You then need to shoot them back out and smash them into a solid block object (walls/scenery) to destroy them. Every 30 levels or so you must tackle a boss, which are easy once you learn the movement patterns. There are loads of bonus items and secrets to be found. Most involve holding an enemy inside the methane gun and walking over a certain part of the level to activate an invisible switch that releases a bonus chest, or takes you to a secret level. My only frustration with the game is the levels that involve moveable blocks and trampolines. If you're next to one, you'll suck it up into the methane gun when you really want to shoot a gas cloud to trap an enemy; you usually end up losing a life because of this, but it's a minor gripe. This longplay features the Amiga CD32 version with some nice AGA graphics and a very catchy full CD audio soundtrack. Enjoy! #retrogaming
