SNES Longplay [599] Lemmings 2: The Tribes

Played by: Reinc Lemmings 2: The Tribes is a puzzle video game released in 1993, it is a sequel to Lemmings. As with the original, it was developed by DMA Design and published by Psygnosis. The gameplay remains mostly the same as the original game, requiring the player to lead a certain number of Lemmings to their exit by giving them the appropriate "skills". A new fast forward button and fan button have been added to the controls. The fast forward replaces the release rate button in the original game, which would let the player release Lemmings faster. The fan button is used to push around any flying Lemmings. Each Lemming tribe uses their own set of skills. The Classic tribe uses the same skills as the original game, while the rest add skills of their own flavor. This port is not very good. Some levels have small differences from the original. Even though levels have pretty backgrounds, this version is inferior to that of Sega Genesis. There are also fewer traps, and things like catapults and cannons cannot be moved. Each tribe has only 40 Lemmings instead of 60. All Lemmings but one were saved. I couldn't beat Polar 8 without losses, as it usually is when playing this game. I would like to believe that the 100% solution for this level can be achieved by using Throwers to trap Lemmings, forcing them to climb upwards (like they do in 100% solution for Classic 7), or by combining Thrower with Platformer to walk over an obstacle, but I was not able to achieve such result. After completing the game, I show Practice Mode, extra animations, screens and sounds, and then I show cheats, easter eggs and the Roper glitch. - Disclaimer: Most videos by World of Longplays use SaveStates!
