Made by the developers of Fighters' Impact and Vs., Slap Happy Rhythm Busters features a unique visual and musical aesthetic inspired by modern Japanese youth culture (including stylish cel-shaded 3D graphics and electronic dance music). It also features a unique super move system, where players perform a rhythm-based minigame (inspired by the Dance Dance Revolution series) to determine the move's effectiveness. The game's story is a bit piecemeal: There is a tournament that has been put on by Rude Boy, but at the same time a UFO has landed near "Down Town" and a wide number of characters have various interests in it.
